Two ideas that shouldn't work together
Velvet Voltage started life as a stubborn little espresso bar in a former print workshop. The owners — Dani and Tom, who met working bars across town — never wanted to run "just a café" or "just a club". They wanted one room that could be both: somewhere you'd read a book at 10am and lose your voice singing along at midnight.
The old machinery is long gone, but the bones of the building stayed: exposed brick, a high ceiling perfect for hanging a mirrorball, and a back room with no windows — which, it turns out, is exactly what a dance floor wants.
